Like you, I am not just a counselor, I wear many hats in life. I am a mother, wife, sister, friend, animal lover, cancer survivor, entrepreneur, and business leader, with first-hand experience in immigration, interracial marriage, and the loss of a parent, to name a few. I enjoy gardening, hiking, photography, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and love good food and drink. I appreciate the simple things in life and am gifted with the ability to find the strength and potential in others. I believe a great therapeutic relationship between counselor and client is vital to any successful transformation process. I hope you will find my brief introduction helpful and I am looking forward to helping you in your transformation journey.

We are all looking for a life that is less burdened by stress and more filled with happiness. My goal as a therapist is to help each and every one of my clients to reduce the effects of negative influences and to increase the positive aspects of life through healthy thoughts and behaviors. How I begin to work with each person that I see is through raising self-awareness and other-awareness. When a person has deeper insight into their behaviors and emotions as well as those of other people, it is much easier to be more intentional about the kinds of decisions we make on a daily basis. Sometimes we need to change ourselves in order to have more positive self-esteem and healthier interactions with others. Other times we need to change our environment, who we interact with, or set boundaries against people who are hurting us. As a counselor, my role is to help you to gain insight, explore the pros and cons of myriad decisions, and then to let you make the best decision for your life. I use a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness to help the people who I work with overcome their obstacles and live more congruently with their personal values. I take a unique approach with each person based on what their needs are. With some people, I will actively listen as they express themselves and experience emotional relief. With other people, I take a more active approach and direct the conversation to the areas that I see need to be examined deeper. So, whatever your need is as a person, I can adapt my counseling style to fit that need. I have worked with many people experiencing mood disorders and trauma. I have additional skills in the area of interpersonal issues like couples counseling, and family counseling (I do not work with children under the age of 13). I have extensive knowledge and skills when working with people who have ADHD or suspect that they may have an attention deficit in some way. Finally, I have noticed that many people right now are searching for purpose and meaning. Society has changed a lot in the past few decades and it has left some people uncertain about their place in the world. For whoever is seeking to find meaning and purpose, I can help you to discover it.

Kelsey Williams, MSW
Kelsey brings her friendliness and love to our practice. She enjoys helping our clients and our providers alike. When she is not taking care of everyone at our practice, she is busy loving her children. If you are lucky, you may hear her small children in the background while on the phone with her. We love the fact that she is an amazing mother to her children while being our backbone!
